Hi, I’m Kjesti
It is pronounced, Kiss-tee, and no, no one gets it right the first time.
Born an eldest daughter, I spent my childhood “counseling” my friends and babysitters prior to earning an always lucrative BA in Psychology. After graduate school in clinical psychology, I worked for a decade in the field then took a “break” to raise my three sons. This season included a move across the country from my native Colorado to Madison, Georgia where I am world-famous for my french macarons, Instant Pot cooking and discussing sex in the grocery store line. When my marriage of more than two decades unexpectedly cratered, I sought out specialized training in couples therapy to process of my own experience and to gain skills and knowledge to help others.
My credentials include training extensively in the Developmental Model of Couples with The Couples Institute and advanced training in sex therapy from the Institute of Relational Intimacy and South Shore Sexual Health Center in Boston. A voracious learner with ridiculous bookstore expenditures, I am currently pursuing Transactional Analysis/Redecision Therapist training.
My deep commitment to my clients, their relational and intimate lives as well as my own growth as an individual and professional motivates my ongoing education and training. I love helping couples develop and grow relationships worth treasuring. Relationship therapy can be a crucible that supercharges personal growth as individuals learn to hold steady, lean in with curiosity to listen and be heard without defensiveness or blame, attacking or retreating.
